Frederick J. Schrader, 83, of Londonderry, died peacefully at 5:07am December 26, at the Veterans Affairs Medical Center, Chillicothe. He was born October 2, 1932, in Ross County to the late Albert and Anna (Holman) Schrader. On March 16, 1960, he married Shirley L. Rippeth, who survives. Also surviving are his siblings: Ada Hughes, Albert "John" (Elsie) Schrader, Jack (Wanda) Schrader, Richard (Jan) Schrader, all of Chillicothe; Thomas (Linda) Schrader, of Greenfield; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-laws: Connie (Don) Huhman, Marcia (Jerry) Cox, Sandra Barker, Peggy Horn, Alan (Brenda) Rippeth; and numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews. He was predeceased by his parents; a step-son Teddy Joachim; and siblings Caroline Lawhorn, Kathryn Brown, Anna Stauffer, Edna Doyle, Helen Seymour, Naomi Schrader, Patricia Schrader and Robert Schrader. Fred served his country in the US Navy during the Korean Conflict. He retired from the Mead Paper Corp. in 1994 following 40 years of service and was a member of the Mead, Local 731. The family would like to give special thanks to the doctors, nurses and staff of the VA Medical Center for their excellent care and for treating Fred like family. At his request, cremation services will be conducted by the Haller Funeral Home & Crematory. A memorial service will be scheduled at a later date. If desired, memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer's Association Central Ohio, 1379 Dublin Road, Columbus, OH 43215; or a charity of the donor's choice.
