Fred Hatfield

Freddie J. Hatfield, 56, died at 2:50am Monday, January 19, 2015, at Adena Regional Medical Center, following an extended battle with cancer. He was born February 12, 1958, in Chillicothe, to John J. and Dorothy F. (Downey) Hatfield. Surviving are his son Shane Hatfield, of Nelsonville; grandchildren: Kera, Kami and Kiley Hatfield; his mother Dorothy Hatfield, of Chillicothe; sisters Edna Felts, of Waverly; and Marie Grube, of Chillicothe; 4 nephews; and many cousins. He was predeceased by his father, John; and brothers-in-law Lewis Felts and Tim Grube. Fred had worked as a cemetery caretaker for Scioto Twp. since 2000. He was an avid outdoorsman and enjoyed gardening. Funeral services will be held at 1:00pm Friday, January 23, at the Haller Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Little Mound Cemetery, Richmond Dale. Friends may call from 11am until 1pm Friday at Haller's.
