Fred R. Bauman, 82, of Waverly, passed from this life at 2:35pm Saturday, September 23, 2006, in Adena Regional Medical Center. He was born October 10, 1923, in Paden City, WV to the late William A. and Hilda (Heinlein) Bauman. He graduated from Magnolia High School in New Martinsville, WV, Class of 1942. He then served his country during WWII in the Navy as a Gunner on a Navy Patrol Bomber from 1943 until 1946. He then graduated from Fairmont State College in 1950 with a B.A. in Education. Fred then went to Stout Institute in Menomonie, WI, where he received his M.S. in Industrial Education in 1951. He taught Industrial Arts at Waverly High School beginning in 1952 until his retirement on May 31, 1987. He was a member of the Lutheran Church. He is survived by his wife of 39 years, the former Jean Grover, who resides in Waverly; a sister Garnett Ferrebee, of Paden City, WV; a sister-in-law Louise Bauman, of Martinsville, WV; 2 nephews, a niece, 2 great-nephews, and 2 great-nieces. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother John Bauman. Military graveside services conducted by the Ross Co. Veterans Honor Guard will be held at 11:30am Wednesday in Floral Hills Memory Gardens with Rev. Vernagaye Sullivan officiating. Friends may call Tuesday from 5-8pm at Haller Funeral Home.
