Franklin Hoops

Franklin T. "Sonny" Hoops, 79, of Chillicothe, passed peacefully at 9:30am Wednesday, March 20, 2013, surrounded by his loving family following a brief illness. He was born July 14, 1933, in Bartley, WV, to the late Ernest and Mabel (Clark) Hoops. On May 24, 1953, he married the former G. Marlene Leach, who preceded him in death on August 4, 2004. In addition to his parents and wife, he was predeceased by brothers Troy and Jack Hoops; and a sister Sylvia Stevens. Frank is survived by his three sons and daughters-in-law Steven (Lea) Hoops; Mark (Cindy) Hoops; and Brian (Tami) Hoops, all of Chillicothe; grandchildren: Andrea Hoops, Chillicothe; Robert Hoops, Westerville; Matt (Christina) Hoops, Chillicothe; Aaron (Jenni) Hoops, Columbus; Neal (Kia) Hoops, Parkersburg, WV; Jaymie (Brad) Wood, Chillicothe; Kristen (Corey) Gillen, Bexley; Kelsi (Chad) Linville, Indianapolis, IN; Seana Hoops, Cincinnati; great-grandchildren: Mallory, Newton, Blake, Addison, Carter, Carly, Brady, Inaya, Zacharia; a sister Marge Miller, Newark, OH; sister-in-law and brother-in-law Mary and Irvin Henry; sister-in-law Joanne Leach; several nieces and nephews; and his beloved canine companion "Andy." Frank was a graduate of Jackson High School, Class of 1952. He was a machine operator at DuPont in Circleville, retiring in 1995. He served his country in the US Navy during the Korean Conflict and was a member of Tabernacle Baptist Church. Funeral services will be held at 12:00pm Saturday, March 23, at the Haller Funeral Home with his granddaughter, Kelsi Linville, officiating. Military graveside services will be held at 2:00pm Saturday in Fairmount Cemetery, Jackson, OH. Friends may call Saturday from 10am until 12pm at Haller Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Adena Hospice, 111 W. Water St., Chillicothe, OH 45601.
