Frank Upton

Frank D. Upton, 76, of Inverness, FL, formerly of Chillicothe, passed away May 30, 2012, following an extended illness. He was born in Chillicothe to the late Emory "Red" Upton and Arlene M. Crow on December 14, 1935. Survivors include his wife, Viola Laviera-Upton; daughters, Karen S. Flannery, of Florida, Denise "Dee" K. (James Barrows Jr.) Upton, of Chillicothe; a son, Anthony R. (Sue) Upton, of Chillicothe; three grandchildren, Ty R. Upton, David J. Upton-Barrows, and Laura A. Barrows Reeves; a great-granddaughter, MacKenzie J. Reeves; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his wife of 30 years, Wavealene "Tub" Elliott in 1986, and Patricia Kaltenbach Smith in 1999. He served in the USAF from 1956-1961 as an airplane mechanic. He retired as a corrections officer in 2000 from RCI after 23 years of service. He was a lifetime member of the DAV and past member of the Moose International, VFW and AMVETS. Christian Burial graveside services will be held 10:00 am Wednesday in Greenlawn Cemetery. Calling hours will not be observed. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Haller Funeral Home.
