Frank Uhrig

Dr. Frank G. Uhrig, Jr., 97, of Chillicothe, went to be with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ Saturday, February 28, 12015. He was born November 13, 1917 in Chillicothe to the late Frank G. and Anna Keil Uhrig Sr. On September 26, 1940 he married Virginia Francis, who preceded him in death in 1987, following 47 years of marriage. Survivors include three children, Janet (Carl) Hawthorne, Prattville, AL, Joe (Sandy) Uhrig, Mission Viejo, CA, and Jane (Bill) Millward, Annandale, VA; six grandchildren; and ten great-grandchildren. Later in life he spent time with his friend, Lois Crawford. He was preceded in death by a brother, Paul Keil Uhrig. Dr. Uhrig was a 1935 graduate of Chillicothe High School, and a 1942 graduate of the Ohio State College of Dentistry. He practiced dentistry locally from 1946 – 1979. With the exception of 1943-1946, during which time he served his country in the US Navy during World War II, he resided in Chillicothe. Dr. Uhrig was recently honored as a 65 year member of Scioto Lodge 6, Free and Accepted Masons, and was a member of all the local Masonic bodies. He was a member of the First Presbyterian Church for over 75 years, where he served as an Elder. A memorial service will be announced this spring. Memorial contributions may be made to the First Presbyterian Church, Abiding Memorial Fund.
