Forest Halterman

November 14, 1949 — December 8, 2005

Forest L. "Rink" Halterman, Sr., 56, of Londonderry, went to be with his Lord and Savior at 1:00pm on December 8, 2005, in Mt. Carmel West Hospital following a brief illness. He was born November 14, 1949, in Wellston, OH, to the late Donovan E. and Marjorie J. Walton Halterman. On October 30, 1976, he married the love of his life, the former Angie L. Cooper, who survives. Also surviving are his children: Tammy (Dean) Arledge, of Chillicothe; Heather (Tim) Detty, of Londonderry; Rebekah Halterman, at home; Melissa (Patrick) Tully, of Pataskala; and Forest (Jill) Halterman, Jr., of Ironton; grandchildren: Jeffrey Arledge, Brandon Haney, Mykalley Detty, Rachel Halterman, Madison Arledge, Kelsie Detty, Emma Tully, Brittney Halterman, Blake Detty, and Brian Tully; a brother Donovan "Tim" Halterman; sisters Elaine Camp, Jan Wolfe, Amber Poe, Kim Halterman, and Connie Frye; and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by an infant son Billy Halterman; an infant sister Cheryl Halterman; an infant brother David Halterman; his father-in-law and special friend Theodore Cooper, Jr.; and a special friend Joe Blair. Rink served in the US Army during the Vietnam Era and was honorably discharged in 1975. He worked at Kenworth Truck Co. for the past 10 years. He was a life member of the NRA. Rink also served as the Commander of the Scioto Valley Honor Guard. He was an avid hunter and was a Hunter Education Instructor. He attended New Life CCCU of Richmond Dale. He was a very loving husband, father, and grandpa who would do anything for his family and friends. He was always the one everyone could count on. He will be sadly missed by all who knew him. Funeral services will be held at 2:30pm Tuesday, December 13, at the Haller Funeral Home with Pastor Jay Neff officiating. Burial will follow in Londonderry Cemetery. Friends may call Tuesday from 10am until 2:30pm at Haller Funeral Home.
