Floyd Sims

Floyd H. Sims, 62, of Chillicothe, went to be with the Lord at 6:01pm on Friday, October 9, 2009, in Adena Regional Medical Center following an extended illness. He was born November 1, 1946, in Ross County to the late Ralph Earl and Hazel Marie Johnson Sims. On August 5, 1972, he married the former Linda Sue Roberts, who survives. Also surviving are his sisters and brothers-in-law Harriett (Frank) Bierline, of Pine City, NY; Rose (Dave) Grubb, of Portsmouth; several nieces and nephews; brothers-in-law Roger (Tena) Roberts; John (Nancy) Roberts; sister-in-law Janet Storts; and his father-in-law Leon Roberts, all of Chillicothe. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his brother and sister-in-law Thomas and Karen Sims; his sister Karen Compher; his mother-in-law Ellen Roberts; and his brother-in-law Larry Storts. Floyd retired from the VA Medical Center in 1997 where he worked in housekeeping. He served his country in the US Coast Guard from 1967 until 1971. Floyd was an avid fisherman and hunter, loved traveling and spending time with God's people. Funeral services will be held at 11:00am Tuesday, October 13, in the Haller Funeral Home with Pastor Don Hamilton officiating. Military graveside services conducted by the Ross Co. Veterans Honor Guard will follow in Grandview Cemetery. Friends may call Monday from 5-8pm at Haller Funeral Home.
