Floyd Lewis

Floyd "Skeet" R. Lewis, 86, of Chillicothe, died 7:10 pm, Tuesday, May 5, 2009, in the VA Medical Center, Chillicothe, following an extended illness. He was born February 20, 1923 in Ross Co. to Floyd and Violetta Cousins Lewis. Survivors include his ex-wife and best friend, Mary Ann Lewis; daughter, Betty Beverly, of Chillicothe; his sons, Eric Boydston, Greg Lewis, Bill (Karis) Lewis and Curtis (Darris) Lewis, all of Chillicothe, and Steven Lewis, of Eugene, OR; several grand and great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a daughter, Susan Smith; brothers George and Ted Lewis; and a sister, Anna Allen. Mr. Lewis was a World War II Navy veteran, a retired concrete finisher, and an avid fisherman. Funeral services will be held 3:00 pm Saturday in the Haller Funeral Home, Pastor Clifford Brown officiating. Military graveside services, conducted by the Ross County Veterans Honor Guard will follow in Greenlawn Cemetery. Friends may call one hour prior to the service on Saturday at Haller's. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society.
