Floyd Coey

Floyd E. Coey, 87, of Chillicothe, died 2:00 pm, Friday, April 30, 2010 at his home, following an extended illness. He was born February 2, 1923 in Portsmouth, OH to the late Floyd and Edith Reeder Coey. On October 6, 1946 he married Joyce M. Taylor, who died May 3, 2007. Survivors include 3 sons, John Coey, of Hubbard, OH, Bob Coey, of Bradenton, FL, and Jim Coey, of North Carolina; 6 grandchildren, Sarah, Margaret, Ashley, Brittany, Chad, and Paige; 2 great-grandchildren, Jack and Emily; and a brother, Cecil Coey, of North Carolina. He was preceded in death by his wife, 2 sisters, and 2 brothers. Mr. Coey retired in 1986 as a manager at Glick's Furniture. He was a World War II and Korean Conflict Navy Veteran. He was a member of the American Legion. Funeral services will be held 2:00 pm Wednesday, May 5, 2010 at the Haller Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Grandview Cemetery.
