Finos Hoyt Aldridge, 83, of Chillicothe, died at 5:55 a.m. on Friday May 16, 2014 at Heartland of Chillicothe nursing home following an extended illness. He was born on September 30, 1930, to the late Thomas Sheldon and Audra (McClung) Aldridge. On August 3, 1964, he married Dora Mae Bowling who survives. Also surviving are his three sons, Thomas (Tami) Aldridge; and Douglas (Pam) Aldridge, both of Chillicothe; and John Aldridge, of Long Island, NY; three grandchildren, Mandy (Ryan) Storts, who they raised; Lauren Aldridge, and Tommy Aldridge; one great-grandchild, Evelyn Ray Storts; one sister, Carolyn Brasel, of Booneville, MS; and also several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, Hoyt was preceded in death by a sister, Jeanette Hoard. On March 30th, 1956, Hoyt graduated from the Air University school of Aviation Medicine in Gunter Air Force Base, Alabama. He proudly served in the U.S. Air Force for 21 years, where he participated in WWII, the Korean War, and Vietnam before retiring in 1968 as a medic. He went on to work driving the school bus for both Unioto and Southeastern. He also worked at Pickaway Plains, and as a driver for Haller's. Hoyt was a retired Ross Co. Sheriff's Deputy, a member of the America Legion Post #62, and in his spare time, he coached little league baseball. However, his favorite thing to do was to watch the Cincinnati Reds with Dora. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, May 20, at 1:00 p.m. at the Haller Funeral Home with Pastor Rick Hartley officiating. Military graveside honors will be conducted by the Ross County Veterans Honor Guard and the Air Force Honor Guard in Springbank Cemetery following the service. Friends and family may call on Monday, from 5:00-8:00p.m. at Haller's.
