Everett (Bud) Lunda Montgomery passed away January 29, 2016 at the Cleveland Clinic. He was born February 22, 1939, to the late Lunda and Ida Mae Jenkins Montgomery in Chillicothe, OH. He is survived by his wife Elizabeth Myers (Beth) Montgomery; children, James and his wife Amy and Shawna and her husband Bryan Gibson. Two grandchildren are surviving; Bryce Montgomery and Addy Gibson. Surviving brothers are Edward and Richard of Chillicothe and sisters are Lucille (Carl) Carroll, Thelma Johnson, Christine Chaney and Irene Price; all of Chillicothe and Jean (Tom) Francis of Texas. Also surviving are mother-in-law, Mary Myers; sister-in-law, Terressa Reep; the mother of his children, Jana Montgomery and several nieces and nephews. Bud was predeceased by brother, Hasadore, and sisters; Ivia Rodgers, Belva Hamilton, Elva Lewis and Rosa Fry. Bud was a member of Tabernacle Baptist Church, Aladdin Shriners, Scottish Rite Valley of Columbus, Ross County Shrine Club, and Scioto Lodge 6 F & AM. He was a long time active member and PER of Chillicothe BPOE (Elks) Lodge 52. He also held many offices in the lodge throughout his years of membership. Bud served in the United States Army anit-aircraft missile unit was 1961-63. Bud was recognized as the Most Distinguished Graduate of the Training Class for Hawk Anti-Aircraft Missiles. Veteran organizations of which he was a member are American Legion Post 62 and AMVETS Post 4. He also belonged to the Eagles Aerie 600. Bud was a founding member and past director of the Chillicothe Harley Owners' Group. He enjoyed many hours with his wife and friends on their Harleys. Bud was an avid sports fan, supporting the Cleveland Browns, Cincinnati Reds and The Ohio State University Football and Basketball teams. Bud was a member of the 1958 graduating class of Chillicothe High School. He earned several technical certifications from the DeVry Institute of Technology. He retired, after working 39 years, from the Mead Corporation in 1998, where he was an AC/HV technician and member of Mead Local 731. Funeral services will be held 1:00 pm Tuesday at the Haller Funeral Home & Crematory, Rev. Robert Melton officiating. Military graveside services, conducted by the Ross Co. Veterans Honor Guard, will follow in Grandview Cemetery. Friends may call 5-8 pm Monday at Haller's, where an Elks service will be held.
