Evelyn Oney

Evelyn Joan Oney, 84, of Chillicothe, passed away Tuesday, August 29, 2016, at her home. She was born October 21, 1931, in Miamisburg, Ohio, to the late Earl and Dorothy Ann (Recher) Babington. On June 17, 1971, she married Carl E. Oney, who preceded her in death on January 5, 2007. Surviving are her two children, Dale Edward Hannaford, and Janice J. (Thomas) Wilkin; two grandchildren, Thomas P. (Belinda) Wilkin, and Brian C. (Maya) Wilkin; 6 great-grandchildren, one brother, Emerson Babington; as well as several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents and husband, Evelyn was preceded in death by a sister, Ruth Babington Cline. Evelyn was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star Chillicothe Chapter# 419. She loved sewing, crafting, and doing genealogy research. In accordance with her wishes, there will be no public calling hours. A memorial service will be held at 11:00am on Saturday, September 17, 2016 at Concord Presbyterian Church, 498 Action Rd., Frankfort, Ohio 45628, with Pastor Todd Thomas officiating. Burial will follow in the Concord Presbyterian Church Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to the Concord Presbyterian Church or to the Shriners Hospitals for Children, 2900 Rocky Point Dr., Tampa, FL, 33607.
