Eva Jean Hitch, 80, of Chillicothe, passed away unexpectedly Saturday morning February 27, 2021, at her residence.
She was born October 23, 1940 in Logan, OH to the late Wayne and Alveena Huffines Ralston. On May 12, 1961 she married James R. Hitch, who died January 22, 2021. Survivors include four children, Jim (Julie) Hitch, Sandy (Doug) Cox, Linda (Mark) Hammond, and Becky (Bill) Lee; their grandchildren, Elizabeth (Ryan) Timberlake, Ethan Hitch, Jacob Hitch, Bryon (Heather) Cox, Victoria Cox, Caydon Cox, Nathan Hitch, Adam Hammond, Hannah (Chase) Thatcher, Trevor Lee and Aron Lee; great-grandchildren, Hadley and Mailey Cox, Evalyn Thatcher, and three on the way; three siblings, Donna Strous, Elaine Poling, and Phil (Wilma) Judy; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; her stepmother, Mildred Ralston; her step-father, Orley Judy; her brother, Gerald (Mary) Ralston; her step-sister, Joanne (Herman) Hunt; and brothers-in-law, Ned Strous and Dean Poling.
Mrs. Hitch attended Springbank United Methodist Church. Her family was her life. She enjoyed every minute with her children and grandchildren.
Public graveside services will be held 11:00 am Thursday in Springbank Cemetery, Rev. Jim Wade officiating. There will be no public calling hours. Memorial contributions may be made to the Springbank United Methodist Church in her honor.
