Eva Givens

October 12, 1923 — June 9, 2023

Eva Jane Givens is now with Jesus. Timothy 4:7-8 "I have fought the good fight, I have finished my course, I have kept the faith. Henceforth there is laid up for me the crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous judge, shall give to me at that day, and not only to me but also to all who have loved his appearing."

Eva Jane, died the way she lived, completely devoted and faithful to all her family. Her faith allowed her to see past this life and into the next. If you knew her, you would know what a good cook and homemaker she was. She was known for her great strawberry and peach pies at the Frankfort Methodist Church, as well as many recipes she entered into the Methodist Church Cookbooks. Eva was a member of the Daughters of Lydia Sunday School class and a 50-year member of the Eastern Star. She loved to travel and enjoyed many trips with her friends and family. Senior Citizens and Noble Tours held many happy memories for her. Eva Jane was a member of the Beaver High School graduating class of 1941. Her family owned and operated a general store/grocery store in Givens Station (Pike County) for many years. First, her grandfather built the family store in 1904 and then her father built a new store in 1940. Eva and her sister, Betty, were very busy working in the store during WW2, where they labored all day and into the night supporting the family business, delivering groceries, testing cream, pumping gas and whatever duties were needed. They sold Sinclair gas and a customer could buy 5 gallons of gas for 95 cents.
Eva Jane was an extraordinary mother and devoted wife to her husband Carl, who continued his excavation business in Frankfort. She lavished a lifetime of unconditional love, support and guidance for her family. She loved her visits from the grandchildren, great-grandchildren and the family pets.

"I tell you the truth, those who listen to my message and believe in God who sent me have eternal life. They will never be condemned for their sins, but they have already passed from death into life." John 5:24

Eva Jane, age 99, passed away June 9, 2023 at her home with her family present. She was born in Givens, Ohio, October 12, 1923 to the late Mary and Frederick Voelker. On January 16, 1951, she married Carl Givens, who preceded Eva in death on November 4, 2006. They were married for 51 years and had two daughters, Karen Lovely and Connie Cook who survive. Also surviving are grandchildren, Lauren (Jordan) Huizenga, Anthony (Jenn) Cook, Jason (Heather) Lovely, Marisa (Josh) Marriott, Brennan (Bethany) Lovely, Sawyer (Savannah Bonner) Lovely; great-grandchildren, Davis Lovely, Charlotte Huizenga, Jackson Cook, Avery Cook, Logan Lovely, and Ava Lovely; and a nephew, George McKinniss.
