Esther Stone

Esther O. Stone, 80, of Chillicothe, went to be with the Lord at 2:25pm Sunday, July 10, 2011, at Mercy Siena Woods Care Facility, Dayton, OH. She was born March 8, 1931, in Ross Co. to the late Obadiah E., Sr. and Esther Mae (Adams) Harris. Surviving are her daughters Diane Gatliff and Debra Wolfe, both of Chillicothe; son and daughter-in-law Robert M. (E. Doniece) Gatliff, Jr., Dayton, OH; grandchildren: Robyn M. Gatliff-Robinson; Tony Gatliff; Jerry Netter; Josh Johnson; Tiffonie Mattison; Jennifer Keel Cousins; Amber Gatliff; 8 great-grandchildren; 1 great-great-grandson; a brother Obadiah E. Harris, Jr.; a host of nieces, nephews, step-children and step-grandchildren. She was predeceased by a total of 9 brothers and sisters; her son Teddy Gatliff; and her husbands Robert M. Gatliff, Sr.; James Beatty; and Harold Stone. Esther was a member of the Lifting Up Jesus Church. She loved gardening and in her later years learned to play the piano and guitar. She was a devoted mother to her family and extended family alike. Funeral services will be held at 1:00pm Saturday, July 16, at the Lifting Up Jesus Church, 78 Douglas Ave., with her nephew, Pastor Obadiah E. Harris III, officiating. Burial will follow in Grandview Cemetery. Friends may call from 11am until 1pm Saturday at the church.
