Esther Johnson

Esther Louise Johnson, 95, of Norton, Ohio, died peacefully January 23, 2015 at Liberty Village, Chillicothe. She was born in Akron, Ohio on March 26, 1919, to the late Carl and Grace (Keeton) Johnson. Esther is survived by her sister-in-law, Rose DeAngelis, of Chillicothe; and her nephew, Dr. Guy DeAngelis. Esther received a B.S. Degree in Education, and a M.S. Degree in School Administration from the University of Akron. She retired as a Principal of Lakeview School in the Coventry Local School District of Summit County in 1982 after 41 years. She was a member of the Living Hope United Methodist Church in Norton, a member of the Akron Community Foundation, a Life Member of the National Association of Elementary School Association, and an Honorary Life Member of the National Elementary Congress of parents and teachers. She received recognition for leadership and dedication in education from the Summit County Elementary Principals Association. Funeral services were held at the Haller Funeral Home on January 26, 2015. Burial followed on January 27, 2015 at Rose Hill Burial Park in Akron, Ohio.
