Ernest Heskett

Ernest Leroy Heskett was born August 5, 1933 in Columbus, OH, to Ernest E. and Pauline (Beard) Patterson, and went home to be with Jesus at the age of 89, July 14, 2023. He died at home in Chillicothe, OH, after an extended illness.   Ernest married Delores Ellen Sammet on December 30, 1951. In 1959, Ernest and Delores founded Calvary Apostolic Church in Chillicothe, Ohio, where he and his wife dedicated their lives to a 60 plus yearlong ministry together. By the grace of God, Ernest was able to build his ministry and expand the original Calvary Apostolic church building numerous times until he completed the building of the new church building in 2010. His ministry included an evangelistic tour around the world in which he was able to preach the Gospel to over 250,000 souls in Liberia, Africa. Ernest was known for loving all people and speaking of Jesus to everyone he met. Ernest's goal always to please God.   Surviving are sister Helen Oliver and brother Herbert (Mary) Patterson, and Lawrence (deceased) Ora Lee Heskett. Surviving are sons David (Suzie), George (Lori), Daniel (Sarah), all of Chillicothe, and Timothy (Holly) of Carroll, and a daughter Rebekah (Calon) Graves of Chillicothe; grandchildren, Jonathan (Emily) Heskett, Nicholas (Samantha) Heskett, Casey (Jon) Arnett, Benjamin (Alissa) Heskett, Phillip (Kayla) Heskett, Caela (Jacob) Ingram, and Ethan (Makiah) Graves, Jason (Christina) Snyder, Jeffrey (Zoe) Snyder, Breezi Dyer, and Asa Dyer; great-grandchildren, Jael, Kalei, Myah, Levi, Jackson, Rhyleigh, Ezekiel, Korinne, Lincoln, Carter Ann, Eden Bliss, Lindynn, Ramsey, Larrick, Kadin, Raiann, Letty, Kayden, Avery, Roxie, Matthew, Alexis, and Abby. Two more great grandchildren are expected later in 2023. His grandchildren and great-grandchildren always brought him joy and put a smile on his face.   Visitation is from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at Calvary Apostolic Church on Friday, July 21, 2023. The funeral service will be on Saturday, July 22, 2023, at 11:00 a.m. with Reverend Joseph Arata officiating. Burial will follow the service at Grandview Cemetery in Chillicothe, Ohio.
