Elvin (Red) Robinson, 90, of Chillicothe passed away 12:42 pm , Wednesday, April 23, 2014 at the Adena Regional Medical Center, after an extended illness, surrounded by loving family. Elvin was born February 14, 1924 in Chillicothe, OH to Walter and Lillie Pearl Tackett Robinson. On November 23, 1949 he married the former Mary H. Hilton, of Chillicothe, and together they had five children. Surviving are daughters Shirley Scurlock, Theresa (Mike) Jones, and Lisa Young, all of Chillicothe; a son, Ronald (Shannon) Robinson, of Chillicothe; eight grandchildren who he loved very much, Christina Scurlock, Daniel (Gloria) Scurlock, Angie (Joey) Eveland, David (Amber) Young II, Kelsey Robinson, Hayley Robinson, Aron Jones, and Erik Jones; ten great-grandchildren that he also loved very much, Ashley Eveland, Alison Eveland, Alex Eveland, Cathy Scurlock, Michael Scurlock, Isaiah Scurlock, JC Scurlock, Nathan Scurlock, Audrey Jones and Andrew Jones; sisters, Garnett Spetnagel, of Chillicothe and Flora Hall, of Carey, OH; and several nieces and nephews. Elvin was preceded in death by a daughter, Debra Jo Robinson; his mother and father; brothers, Carson, Olin, June, Vivian, Omar; and sisters, Reeva and Lorraine. Elvin was a World War II veteran, and very proudly served his country in the Army Air Corps. He served in the Asiatic-Pacific Theatre, China, Burma and India. He retired from NCR Corp., Dayton, OH after more than 30 years of service. He continued to work many more years, including work for J & C Auto Parts, and RLS Recycling Company, before finally retiring from the work force.
