Elvin A. Mickey Elvin A. Mickey Sr., 79, of Chillicothe, went home to be with the Lord 2:10 pm, on Wednesday, February 22, 2006, in the Adena Regional Medical Center. He was born August 17, 1926 in Chillicothe, the son of the late Ross and Alameda (Lett) Mickey. He was a member of First Baptist Church for over 50 years where he served as a Trustee. Mr. Mickey was a World War II Army veteran and had retired as a foreman with the Mead Corporation following 38 years of service. Following his retirement he drove for Haller Ambulance Service. He leaves to cherish his beautiful, loving memory, his devoted wife of 57 years, Rosetta (Smith) Mickey; his children, Janice (Robert) Scott, Sr., of Springfield, Ralph and Perry (Kay) Hall, of Chillicothe, Chris (Kathy) Mickey, of Washington C.H., Lara (Steve) Benson, of Columbus, Kyra (Mark) Brown and Elvin A. Mickey Jr., both of Chillicothe; a brother and sister-in-law, Roscoe and Peggy Mickey Beaver; sisters, Sarah Cunningham and Julia Brown, both of Chillicothe; brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Gordon and Sonya Smith; 18 grandsons; 5 granddaughters; 37 great-grandchildren; special friends, Kelton Martinez and Michael Steed; as well as many nieces; nephews; cousins and friends. He was preceded in death by two daughters, a stillborn baby girl and Tanya (Mickey) Cousins; three brothers, Bertrand, Earl and Vernon Mickey; two sisters, Edna Walker and Ilene Brown; and two grandchildren. Funeral services will be held 4:00 Sunday in the First Baptist Church, Rev. Jonathan McReynolds officiating. Military graveside services will be held 10:00 am Monday in Greenlawn Cemetery, conducted by the Ross County Veterans Honor Guard. Friends may call 2-4 Sunday in the First Baptist Church.
