Elma Ellen Madden Wisecup, January 23, 1925 – March 29, 2017, was born and raised in Massieville, OH. She was ever cheerful, despite her sometimes impoverished childhood, and she had the brightest blue eyes. As a young woman, she joined the World War II home support effort, working at the munitions plant in Ross County. This was dangerous work, but she and her younger sister were proud of their contributions. Elma married her husband, Homer, when he returned at the end of the war. In Chillicothe, they raised two sons, enjoying all their children's activities: guitar, band, baseball, basketball, football, roller skating, etc. Elma developed a hobby of attending auctions and flea markets, where she made many friends. She was employed at various times in her life at the Mead paper mill, and at local department stores. She loved her family, her friends and her neighbors. Elma will be greatly missed. She was preceded in death by all six of her siblings, her husband, her two sons David Russell Wisecup and Lionell Lee Wisecup. She is survived by her daughter-in-law Norma Wisecup, Norma's children, and Elma's nieces and nephew: Vicki Pritchard, Phyllis Tittle, Susan Bower, Kenneth Bower and other members of her extended family. The family is forever grateful to Westmoreland Place and their loving staff and to the Heartland Hospice staff. A Memorial Life Celebration will be held at a later date. Family and friends interested in attending the service may contact [email protected] for information regarding the time, date and location. Arrangements are under the direction of Haller Funeral Home & Crematory. Memorial contributions may be made to Heartland Hospice.
