Ellen Louise Bane, 75, of Greenfield, formerly of Chillicothe, went to be with the Lord on March 8, 2011, in her home unexpectedly. She was born February 14, 1936, in Waverly, OH to the late Glenn H. and Goldie I. Boggs Oyer. She was the widow of William Thomas Bane, Sr., who preceded her in death on December 2, 1977. She is survived by four children: William T. Bane, Jr.; Michael A. (Jane) Bane, all of Chillicothe; Sarah E. Miller; Susan E. (Gary) Long, all of Frankfort; grandchildren: Bryan Bane, Erin Bane, Sylvia E. Miller, Adam (Jahma) Long, Matthew Long, Roman Long; and a great-grandson Hunter Long; a brother Larry Oyer; and sisters Dorothy Kemper and Marilyn Oyer. She was predeceased by her son Stephen E. Bane; brothers James Oyer and Ronald Oyer. Ellen was a graduate of Waverly High School, Class of 1954. She had worked as a realtor for Ron Neff Realty before moving to South Carolina, where she was also an active Real Estate agent. She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church. Ellen loved her grandchildren and enjoyed attending their school functions and sporting events. She also was an avid animal lover. Graveside services will be held at 2:00pm Monday, March 14, 2011, in Twin Township Cemetery, Bourneville under the direction of Haller Funeral Home. At her request, calling hours will not be observed. In lieu of flowers, please make contributions in her name to the Ross Co. Humane Society, 2308A Lick Run Rd., Chillicothe, OH 45601.
