Elizabeth K. "Betty" Zupi, 93, died at 12:04am, October 30, 2014, at Traditions of Chillicothe. She was born November 4, 1920, in Copenhagen, Denmark, to the late Oscar R. and Ann (Degnan) Jensen. On November 4, 1949, she married Louis M. Zupi, who preceded her in death on June 11, 2009. Surviving are her sons and daughters-in-law Anthony L. (Linda) Zupi, Tucson, AZ; Larry S. (Pam) Zupi, Chillicothe; David J. (Ronda) Zupi, Fargo, ND; and Joseph T. (Maureen) Zupi, Chillicothe; grandchildren: Katie, Ryan, Beth Ann, Michael, Stephen, Casey, Megan and Nicholas Zupi; and great-grandchildren: Matthew, Austin, Case, Reece and Cohen. She was predeceased by her brother Larry Jensen. Betty was a retired nurse, having worked for the Ross County Ambulatory Clinic. She received her degree in nursing from the Toledo School of Nursing. Betty was an honorably discharged veteran of the US Army, where she served as a nurse during WWII, and had been stationed in London, England, in preparation of the D-Day invasion. She was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00am, Tuesday, November 4, at St. Mary Catholic Church, Rev. Lawrence Hummer, Celebrant. Burial will be held at the convenience of the family in Arlington National Cemetery. Friends may call from 5-8pm Monday at Haller Funeral Home, where a wake service will be held at 8:00pm. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Mary Church Endowment; 61 S. Paint St.; Bishop Flaget School Endowment, 570 Parsons Ave.; Traditions Employee Committee, Attn: Karen Steinbrook, 142 University Dr.,; or any charitable military fund.
