Elizabeth Shaw

Elizabeth Ellen Shaw, 87, went peacefully to be with the Lord and her beloved husband on September 18, 2008 at Adena Regional Medical Center. Funeral services will be held 2:00 pm Monday, September 22, 2008 in the Haller Funeral Home, with Evangelist Larry Williams officiating. Burial will follow in Mt. Carmel Cemetery. Friends may call 2-5 pm Sunday at Haller's. She was born January 29, 1921 to James and Addie Sheets, in Portsmouth, OH. On November 5, 1938 she married James H. Shaw, who she missed greatly. Together they raised 10 children. Surviving are her four daughters, Mrs. Howard (Barbara) Everhart, of South Carolina, Mrs. Franklin (Carolyn) Clary, of Londonderry, Mrs. Jack (Mary Ann) Conley, of Chillicothe, Rayna Shaw and her companion Dean Newland, of Chillicothe; a granddaughter Mrs. Charily (Butch) Nolan, of Chillicothe, that she raised; four sons, Kenneth E. (Kay) Shaw, of Springfield, Michael (Mary Ann) Shaw, of Waverly, Darryl (Barbara) Shaw, of Columbus, and Ronald "Rod" Shaw, of Chillicothe. Elizabeth spent most of her life watching 32 grandchildren grow up. They are Lynette, Sean, Tammy, Shelly, James, Kenneth Jr., Juanita, Tonya, Clint, Scott, Dwain, Lesia, Brian, Jason, Derek, Jeff, Jamie, Cindy, Debbie, Jackie, Becky, Danny, Todd, Beth, Jeremy, Michael, Jason, Terran, Justin, Chase, Heath and Jae Jae. She also has 50 great-grandchildren; and 3 great-great grandchildren, whom she enjoyed watching grow and play. She has two sisters, Ruby Adams, of Springfield, Carol Ann (Chris) Shank, of Portsmouth; and a brother, Gerald (Patty) Sheets, of Springfield. She was preceded in death by her husband James; her parents, James and Addie Sheets; a son, James L. Shaw; a daughter, Cathy Annette Shaw; a step-mother, Mary Sheets; two granddaughters, Kellie Rose and Elizabeth Murray; 6 brothers; 2 sisters; and 2 sisters-in-law. Mrs. Shaw was a member of Calvary Lutheran Church for over 50 years. The family would like to thank Heath and Julie Shaw, Rick and Tangee and Shirley Landman for the help and care that they gave to our beloved mother.
