Elizabeth Peterson

Elizabeth Edna (Tower) Peterson, 93, of Chillicothe, formerly of Tipp City, Ohio, passed away at 9:00am Thursday, March 22, 2018, at Traditions of Chillicothe, following an extended illness. She was born July 22, 1924, in New York City, to the late Ralph E. Tower and Edna Mable (Beman-White) Tower. Surviving are her three children, James "Jim" (Alma) Peterson, of Russia, Ohio, Jeanne (Bob) Netherton, of Chillicothe, and Pat (Jim) Fraley, of New Carlisle, Ohio; a daughter-in-law, Millie Peterson; nine grandchildren; and eleven great-grandchildren. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two sons, Ed Peterson and Dan Peterson; her brother, Edwin Tower; and her sister, Jeanne Boettcher. Elizabeth lived an extraordinary life, never taking one minute for granted. In her younger years she was an experienced aviator, a pilot, a certified scuba diver, and an accomplished musician. She was also an accomplished Volksmarcher who walked thousands of miles in her time. She loved to travel, garden, watch Nascar, as well as watching the Olympics and ice skating competitions. But most of all, Elizabeth's greatest accomplishment was raising her five children. She cherished the time she got to spend with her children and their families. The family would like to extend a special thank you to the staff at Traditions of Chillicothe for all of their love and care during her time with them. In accordance with Elizabeth's wishes, there will be no public services.
