Elizabeth Liggins

Elizabeth A. "Sis" Liggins, 93, of Chillicothe, died at 7:04pm Wednesday, February 22, 2012, in Heartland of Chillicothe following a brief illness. She was born August 14, 1918, in Circleville, OH to the late Clifford and Sarah Elizabeth (Boley) Fairrow. On August 7, 1937, she married Leroy L. Liggins, who preceded her in death March 17, 1997. Surviving are her daughter and son-in-law Marion and Karl Brown; sons Roger Liggins and James E. Liggins, Sr., all of Chillicothe; a host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren; and a brother Maurice (Pat) Fairrow. She was preceded in death by sisters: Helen Bayless and Lorna Lewis; brothers: Clifford, Robert, Oliver, Elsworth and Ronald Fairrow; daughters-in-law Maxine (Tackett) Liggins and Iva M. (Tilton) Liggins; and a granddaughter Kim Taylor. Mrs. Liggins was a missionary at and attended Quinn Chapel A.M.E. Church, 181 W. Main St., where her funeral service will be held at 1:00pm Monday, February 27, with Pastor Acie Collins officiating. Burial will follow in Greenlawn Cemetery. Friends may call Sunday from 2-4pm at Haller Funeral Home.
