Elizabeth "Betty" Claire Elliott, 79, of Frankfort, passed away at 1:38pm on Tuesday, April 18, 2017, at the Ohio University Wexner Medical Center, following a brief illness. She was born in Sharon Hill, PA, on August 2, 1937, to the late Thomas Joseph and Evelyn (Stoner) Hendrick. On May 9, 1957, she married Wilbur "Gene" Eugene Elliott who survives. Also surviving are their children, Pamela (Christopher) Givens, of Frankfort, Terry Sams, of Chillicothe, Elizabeth "Paula" (Billy) Romans, of Bainbridge, and Scott (Nancy) Elliott, of Kingston; 14 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren; three brothers, Buzzy, Tommy, and Paul Hendrick; three sisters, Evelyn Clements, Barbara Hendrick and Carol Yannone; brothers-in-law, Larry, Kenny, Robert, Harold, and Earl Elliott; sisters-in-law, Marlene Mather, Carol Elliott, Connie Kohler, and Kathy Copeland; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, and friends. In addition to her parents, Betty was preceded in death by a her siblings, Theresa Hatala, Laura Whitehead, Clark and Billy Hendrick; a brother-in-law, Don Elliott; a sister-in-law, Brenda Swindler; her two grandsons, Nicholas Romans, and Anderson Sams; and a son-in-law, Ronald "John" Sams. Betty was a member of the St. Peter Catholic Church, a former member of the Ross County Crime Watch group, a member of the Lions Club in Frankfort, as well as a member of the Frankfort Historical Society. In her free time she enjoyed bird watching. But most of all, she loved spending time with her family and with her husband Gene. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00am on Saturday, April 22, 2017, at St. Peter Catholic Church, Rev. William Hahn, Celebrant. Burial will follow in Friends Cemetery, Londonderry.
