Eleanor W. Simon, of Chillicothe, died January 7, 2014 at the age of 100 years, 7 months, and 16 days young. She was the daughter of Jerome and Bird Dean Damron. She was preceded in death by her husband, Albert J. Simon, and 10 brothers and sisters. Survivors include her daughters, Dr. Lynn A. Simon, Sharon S. Dykes, Martha E. (Nikolaus) Wenzel, and Joy E. (Harold) Carver; grandchildren, Michelle (Vince) Willis, Thomas (Sharon) Dykes, Felicia (Albert) Vonderheide, Heather Bradley, Laurel (Eric) Lenox and Joshua (Candice) Carver; great-grandchildren, Harley Bradley, Meagan (Hugo) Sanchez, Brittany and Rachel Willis, and Ashley Dykes, Julia, Nikolaus, Luke, and Erika Vonderheide, Andrew and Jacob Lenox and Ian Carver; great-great grandchildren, "her little boy" Braxton and Delaney; step-grandchildren, Kayla (Steven) Lewis, Kyle and Dylan Rice. Mrs. Simon was a devoted wife for almost seventy years and a devoted mother of four daughters. She was loved equally in return. She gave her talents as a 4H Advisor for twenty-five years. She gave to her community, to her church, and most importantly to her family. She was loved. The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 11:00 am Saturday at St. Mary Church, Rev. Lawrence Hummer officiating. Burial will follow in St. Margaret Cemetery. Friends may call one hour prior to the Mass at St. Mary Church Saturday.
