Eleanor A. Richards, 87, of Chillicothe, went to be with the Lord, surrounded by her family, January 4, 2010, following a long battle with Alzheimer's disease. She was born January 30, 1922 in Chillicothe to Russell J. and Ina J. Fogle Spetnagel. On March 15, 1952 she married Douglas L. Richards, who survives. Also surviving are her daughters, Sue Holdren, of Chillicothe, Vivian (Don) Welshimer, of Kingston, and Pat Wilson, of Frankfort; her son, Johnny (Melinda) Kohn, of Pickerington; 9 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; a great-great grandchild; brothers, Wayne (Mavis) Spetnagel and Paul (Garnet) Spetnagel, both of Chillicothe, and Joe (Shirley) Spetnagel, of Arizona; sisters-in-law, Eileen and Helen Spetnagel, Orpha Wade, and Ann (Louis) Skaggs; brothers-in-law, Frank and Tim Richards; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by three sisters; four brothers; and two grandsons. Mrs. Richards retired as a clerk in 1977 from the Wagner Dry Cleaners. She was an avid bowler and Chillicothe Paints fan. She loved the ocean and attended the First Church of God. Funeral services will be held 2:00 pm Friday at the Haller Funeral Home, with her neighbor of 37 years, Pastor Don Ringer, officiating. Burial will follow in Greenlawn Cemetery. Friends may call 6-8 pm Thursday at Haller's. Memorial contributions may be made to the Adena Health Foundation, Friends of Hospice, 111 W. Water St., Chillicothe or the First Church of God, Building Fund, 780 E. Water St., Chillicothe.
