Eleanor Jean Hickle Hiser, 88, of Chillicothe, formerly of Clarksburg, passed from this life on Friday, June 28, 2024 at her daughter's residence surrounded by her family and caregivers. Eleanor was born November 23, 1935 in New Holland, Ohio to the late Lehr and Lurena Hickle. On November 6, 1958 she married Richard Hiser, who preceded her in passing along with her sister, Mary Hickle Shaeffer, and her daughters, Darlene Hiser and Gail Ann Hiser.
Surviving is her brother, Richard (Georgina) Hickle, her sister, Eileen Hickle; her daughters, Jan (Scott) Nusbaum, and Jodine (Jeff) Beggrow; grandchildren, Alexis (Ryan Blakeman) Nusbaum, Dustin Nusbaum (Ri Felts), Stacy (Francis) McNamee, Jaime (Matt) Brulport; great grandchildren, Brooks, Gus, and Wells Nusbaum-Blakeman, Emma and Wyatt Brulport, and Jack and Delaney McNamee.
Eleanor graduated from New Holland High School in 1953 and she worked as a bookkeeper for First National Bank in New Holland. She was a member of the Clarksburg United Methodist Church. Eleanor was a farmer's wife and helped her husband with the running of Hiser Farm Seeds for many years on Mile Tree Road in Clarksburg. She was an esteemed cook, baker, and many friends in her community raved about her German Chocolate cakes and famous cinnamon rolls. In her entirety, she was the world's greatest mother, Mimi, and she will be greatly missed beyond measure. Her presence was a great light that guided her family for all of these years. The family would like to thank her sweet caregivers, Tammy Diaz, Sherry Stiltner, Malinda Cuckler and Johanna Miller for the incredible care they gave Eleanor in her remaining years.
Contributions can be made in lieu of flowers to Ross county Humane Society and Adena Hospice. There will be a public graveside service at Browns Chapel Cemetery, 2085 Browns Chapel Road, Clarksburg on Tuesday, July 2, 2024 at 2:00 PM.. Immediately following there will be a celebration of life for family and friends at the home of Jan and Scott Nusbaum.
