At 2:23 am on November 11, 2021, Elaine Traylor passed through the gates of Heaven & into the loving, protective arms of Jesus. Her sister was by her side as Elaine began her new journey, after spending 72 years on this Earth. She was born on July 6, 1949 in Bourneville, OH to Evelyn (née Miller) & Albert Traylor. Over time, a brother, John & a sister, Janet were added to the family, & Elaine loved them both very much, as they did her. Along with her brother & sister, she is survived by several cousins, including ... Cheryl (Michael) Dennis & Michael (Carolyn) Stanhope of Chillicothe, OH, who were her first two friends & playmates; Randall Stanhope & Kevin (Michelle) Stanhope of FL; Teri (Alvaro) Moreno of CA; & Penny (Delbert) Haynes of Jackson, OH. She was predeceased by both of her parents; her grandparents Ethel (née Neff) & John Emmett Miller, & Ethel (née Scott) & William Traylor; aunts & uncles Pauline (née Miller) & Thomas Stanhope, Kenneth T. & Jean Traylor, William H. & Patricia Traylor, & Harry Justice. The course of Elaine's life was tragically altered on the day she was born due to the negligence of the doctor that delivered her but, God Blessed her with two parents that loved her unconditionally, & dedicated their entire lives to making sure that she was able to live her life to the fullest. She got her love of harness racing from her Grandma Miller, & she rarely missed going to the races at the county fair. She also enjoyed several trips to Scioto Downs with her sister. Had Elaine been a gambler, she would have won a lot of money because she somehow had the knack to pick the winning horse almost every time. Annual vacations to the beach was something that she always looked forward to, as well. She enjoyed her toes in the sand & her feet in the water ... & she especially loved for her Daddy to take her out for swims in the ocean. She loved summertime because she was able to sit in the backyard on her swing, usually looking through magazines for new recipes that she could help her Mom make ... especially desserts. For those that knew her, she will be truly missed. Her heart was pure & filled with love & compassion for everyone that she encountered. A very special "thank you" goes to the staff at National Church Residences & the members of their hospice team for the outstanding care & support that they gave to Elaine ... both at their facility & after she returned home. Funeral arrangements are being entrusted to Haller Funeral Home, & will be held privately at the discretion of her sister.
