Elaine Inouye

Elaine Ann Merriman Inouye, of Elk Grove, CA, died at 3:00pm on August 21, 2008, following an extended illness, in the arms of her husband, Gill Inouye. Elaine was born December 10, 1959, in Chillicothe, to Richard and Jo Ann Merriman. Elaine's husband, Gill, survives and was her constant caregiver. In addition to her husband, she is survived by her sons Christopher (Stacey) Evans, Richmond, VA; Shane (Tina) Downs, High Point, NC; granddaughter Jasmine; step-granddaughter Destiny; and a grandchild yet to be born; her father and his wife, Richard (Shirley) Merriman, of Frankfort; her brother Victor Merriman; a niece Jessie; a nephew Noah, all of Chillicothe; grandmother Lucille Congrove, who is a resident at Pleasant Hill Nursing Home, Piketon; her Aunt Kay (Phil) Schneider, Urbana, OH; her Uncle Fred (Jan) Cox, Ypsilanti, MI; step-sister Vicki (Dale) Hankins; step-brother Jay (Michelle) Gleich, all of Chillicothe; several nieces and nephews; and her in-laws Mr. and Mrs. Inouye, of Elk Grove, CA. She was predeceased by her mother, Jo Ann Merriman, and grandfather Raymond Congrove. Elaine was a graduate of Unioto High School and Ohio University, Athens. Her best friend Donna Pelletier, of Chillicothe, talked to and visited with Elaine on a regular basis. Elaine worked for the city of Sacramento, CA. She loved the California weather, her home in Elk Grove, and her dogs Dana, Leila and Laura. No calling hours or visitation will be observed.
