Eileen Louise Hardin, 79, of Chillicothe, went to join her Father in heaven Sunday, October 29, 2017. She is survived by her husband of 39 years, Larry Dean Hardin; children, Tracey Ann Taylor, of Chillicothe, and Amy Jo (Ray) Betz, Harrisburg, NC; a step-daughter, Tina Lynn (Shane) Hatter and her children, Drew and Abby; six grandchildren, Matthew O. (Casey) Betz, Charlotte, NC, Daniel R. Betz, and Grace E. (Chase) Cabaniss, both of Harrisburg, NC, Mary E. (Ted Montgomery) Taylor, Chillicothe, Krystal J. Taylor, Washington, and Willard J. Taylor IV, of Columbus; six great-grandchildren, Lilly, Beckett, Aidan, Kennedy, Scarlett and Karis; 5 sisters, Rose M. (Richard) Butcher, Mission, TX, Betty L. (Bill) Edwards, Florida, Carol S. (Danny) Saunders, Pennsylvania, Deborah K. (Jim) Leickley, Gahanna, and Diana L. Kelly, Vermont; five brothers, Donald A. (Penny) Hill, Jackson, David M. (Connie) Hill and Dale E. (Sharon) Hill Frankfort, Danny R. Hill, Chillicothe and Dean M. (Cheri) Hill, Iowa. Eileen had several special friends during her life, Howard & Marty Kitchen (Godparents to her daughter Tracey), the DE's, Sherry Hoffner, Barb Abernathy (a special witness to Melinda's short life), Jo Everhart, (a beloved Christian teacher), and Teri Brown-Taylor. She was preceded in death by a daughter, Melinda Abernathy, a step-son, Richard Hardin and a sister, Barbara Malone. Eileen has served a full life. Her first 19 years she was raised on a farm. She went on to care for others at the Chillicothe Hospital in medical patient care and as a medical clerk. She did several charitable works as a member of the North Fork Church, serving as a Christian School Educator and a Girl Scout leader. She was also a deaconess at the Presbyterian Church in Frankfort. In 1971 she became an associate with F. Don & Larry D. Hardin, Realtors as their secretary and bookkeeper. She later became a Sales Licensee in the Chillicothe and Cleveland area from 1972-1991 with her current husband at Pointe 1 st Co. She enjoyed helping clients find their dream of home ownership, and working with other real estate personnel in the surrounding areas. Friends may call 10:00 am – 12:00 pm Saturday at the Haller Funeral Home & Crematory. Graveside services will follow, in the Dayton National Cemetery, at the convenience of the family.
