Edwin Waters

Edwin Jordan Waters, Sr., CSM (Ret.), 85, died Sunday, May 3, 2015. He was born February 23, 1930 in Towns, GA, the eldest son of Jordan S. Waters and Eva Inez Horton. Edwin entered the United States Army in 1951 and served for 30 years. During this time he rose to the rank of Command Sergeant Major, served in the Special Forces, and was awarded the Distinguished Service Medal and 2 Bronze Stars with oak leaf clusters. Edwin is survived by his wife, Debbie Waters, of Chillicothe, OH; his son, Edwin J. Waters, Jr. and wife Delores Waters; daughter, Debra Waters Taft, all of Fayetteville, NC; and grandchildren, Kimberly Taft, Edwin J. Waters, III, and Savannah Waters. Military graveside services, conducted by the US Army will be held in Arlington National Cemetery, Arlington, VA. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in his name to the Airborne and Special Operations Museum, 100 Bragg Blvd, Fayetteville, NC 2830.
