Edward Bohn

Edward J. Bohn, 95, of Chillicothe, passed away Tuesday evening, April 25, 2023 at the Adena Regional Medical Center, following a brief illness.
He was born on March 4, 1928, in Chillicothe, Ohio, son of the late Frank and Catherine (Lacey) Bohn. On June 2, 1962, he married the love of his life, Patricia Marie (Shea) Bohn, and together they shared nearly 50 years of marriage before her passing March 24, 2012.
Surviving are four sons, Tim Bohn, Allan (Brenda) Bohn, Daniel (Bethann) Bohn, and Grant Bohn; grandchildren, Eli Bohn, Ethan Bohn, Emily (Clayton) Butcher, Christopher (Kawena) Bohn, Matthew (Danielle) Baugh, Katie Bohn, and Elizabeth Bohn; two great-grandchildren, Audrey and Blake; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family members, and friends. In addition to his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by an infant daughter, Janet Bohn; a son, John Bohn; four brothers, Dick, George, Frank, and Robert Bohn; and his sister, Mary Ann Bailey.
Ed was a graduate of Chillicothe High School, class of 1945. He went on to join the United States Army on July 6, 1946 where he served during WWII. Following his honorable discharge on November 3, 1947, he came back to Ohio and graduated from the Ohio University with his Bachelor's degree. He later went on to work at Weisenberger Insurance Services for many years as an Insurance Agent before his retirement in 1994. He was a life member of St. Peter Catholic Church, where he served as a Eucharistic Minister and served on the Parish Council. He was also an original board member for Westmoreland Place, a member of the Knights of Columbus, the American Legion, the VFW, and Boy Scout Council. In his free time, he enjoyed going with his group of church friends to New System Bakery after services. He also enjoyed a good game of golf, traveling, and camping.
Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00am on Saturday, May 6, 2023 at St. Peter Catholic Church, Rev. Milton Kiocha, Celebrant. Burial will follow in St. Margaret Cemetery with military graveside honors conducted by the Ross County Veterans Honor Guard. The family will receive friends 1 hour prior to the mass on Saturday at the church.
