Edna Mae Dyke, 78, passed away peacefully on March 28, 2025. Born on August 17, 1946, in Wheeling, West Virginia, Edna brought warmth and spirit to every chapter of her life.
She and her husband, Herbert Dyke, worked at Thomson/RCA in Circleville, Ohio. They married in 1981, and Edna took on the full-time role of homemaker as she cared for their four children. She was preceded in death by her son, Mark (Christine) Ward, and is survived by their children Matthew (Keneice) Ward, Troy (Johnita) Dyke, and Misty Dyke.
Edna's legacy continues through her grandchildren—Andrea Harrington, Brayden Ward, Ashton Ward, Baylee Ward, Caitlyn Dyke, Madison Skaggs, and Coleton Lightle—each of whom brought her immense joy. Her great-grandchildren—Kennedy, Haddie Mae, Brooklyn, Kinslee, Kerrigan, and Henry—were cherished lights in her later years.
Known for her genuine nature and unwavering loyalty, Edna was a woman who lived life on her own terms. She was caring and deeply devoted to those she loved but never hesitated to speak her mind. Her stubborn streak was matched only by an ornery sense of humor that endeared her to many.
Edna found joy in simple pleasures: the thrill of going to the casino, the comfort of laughing with friends around a campfire, and the delight she took in family gatherings. She had a green thumb for gardening and a talent for cooking and baking that filled many homes with delicious aromas and full hearts and bellies. Her hands were rarely still—she spent many hours knitting and crocheting and creating crafts, especially with her grandchildren.
She will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
In honoring Edna's wishes, the family will not hold a public service or gathering. They ask for your support and fond memories to carry on her legacy. May Edna's memory bring comfort and a smile to those who knew and loved her.
