Earl Miller

February 28, 1915 — August 15, 2010

On August 15, 2010 Earl L. "Red" Miller passed from this life into the next. We will celebrate his life 11:00 am, Thursday, August 19, 2010, at the Haller Funeral Home, Pastor Shawn Howard officiating. Interment, beside his wife, will follow in Twin Township Cemetery. Friends may call 5-7 pm Wednesday at Haller's, where a Masonic Memorial Service will be held at 7:00 pm. He was born February 28, 1915, near Ashland, KY, to Walter Howard and May Shortridge Miller. He was preceded in death by his wife of 66 years, Lois E. Jordan Miller, in 2002. He married Lois E. Jordan Miller, of Kenova, WV in 1936. From that union they had three children, Thomas Earl Miller, Karla Kay (Marvin) Miller Shoults, and Walter Howard (June) Miller, all of which survive. He had 7 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; and 7 great-great grandchildren. He also had a special friend, Helen Snyder. He was predeceased by several brothers and sisters. He began working at the Chilpaco Paper Mill in 1948 as a plumber. Later he was put in charge of the storeroom, retiring in 1977. He loved his garden and fishing. He was a member of Scioto Lodge 6 F&AM. But most of all he loved his church and church family, to which he gave freely of this time and finances. He had received several awards including Senior Citizen of the Year. The family requests that memorial contributions be made to his church, First Assembly of God, 2580 Western Ave., Chillicothe, OH 45601. We will miss him dearly, and will mourn his passing; but not for long. For his family knows, just as he knew, death is not the end…it is the beginning.
