Earl Hoosier

Earl Daniel Hoosier, 81, of Chillicothe, passed away Tuesday, September 19, 2017, at Heartland Nursing Home, following an extended illness. He was born August 2, 1936, to the late Rev. Elias Hoosier Sr. and Ora Ellen Harris in Chillicothe. Surviving are his sisters, Maria Hoosier and Mary Harris, of Chillicothe, Bonnie Harris and Eleanor Harris, of Pike County, and Daisy (Joe) Tanner, of Jackson County; his brothers, Lewis Hoosier and Herbert (Hazel) Hoosier, both of Chillicothe; as well as numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, Earl was preceded in death by two brothers, Elias Jr. and Donald Hoosier, and two sisters, Hester Simmons and Goldie Hoosier. Earl worked at a young age for Brewer and Brewer Construction, and then later went to Columbus to work for Elford Construction where he retired. He had a love for Nascar racing, and his favorite driver was Dale Earnhardt. Earl will be missed by his family and friends greatly. A graveside service will be held at 11:00am on Friday, September 22, 2017, at Floral Hills Memory Gardens, Chillicothe. Calling hours will not be observed.
