Earl W. Drummond, Sr., 85, of Londonderry, formerly of Akron, OH, died at 11:30am Monday January 14, 2008, in the Veterans Affairs Medical Center following an extended illness. Funeral services will be held at 1:00pm Friday, January 18, in the Londonderry United Methodist Church, with Rev. Arthur A. Reed, officiating. Military graveside services conducted by the AmVets, Post 2256 (Circleville), will follow in Londonderry Cemetery. Friends may call Thursday from 5-8pm at Haller Funeral Home, where a Masonic funeral will be held at 5:30pm. Earl was born February 15, 1922, in Akron, OH, to the late Robert L. and Pearl O. Ault Drummond. On November 11, 1942, he married the former Mary Jane Brenner, who survives. Also surviving are his son and daughter-in-law Earl W., Jr. (Linda) Drummond, Londonderry; grandchildren: Stephen (Heather) Drummond, Londonderry; Terry (Susan) Ellison, Parkersburg, WV; Sandy Thurnhurst, Battle Mountain, NE; Gina (Mark) O'Sickey, Indianapolis, IN; Troy (Chasity) Lougheed, Warm Springs, GA; great-grandchildren: Justin Drummond, Jordyn Drummond, Matt Ellison, Amber Ingham, Alicia Ellison, Timothy Ellison, Hannah Lougheed, Josie Lougheed, Desire Lougheed, Alex Gordy, Tony Buchel, Autumn Thurnhurst, Cory Buchel, Jace Buchel, Michael O'Sickey, Carson O'Sickey, Mark O'Sickey, Jr., Cybreen Goody, and Ashton Goody ; 1 great-great-granddaughter Emma Ingham; and a sister-in-law Ruth Drummond, Londonderry. He was predeceased by two sisters and a brother. Earl retired as an area supervisor for the Goodyear Tire and Rubber Co., serving for 44 years. He was a graduate of Kent St. University and a member for more than 50 years of the F & AM, Irving Lodge No. 1218, and a 32nd Degree, Scottish Rite. He served his country in the US Army during World War II. If desired, memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society.
