Earl Bethel

Earl O. Bethel, Sr., 86, died at 1:31pm November 14, 2021, at Adena Regional Medical Center following an extended illness.   He was born April 29, 1935, in Ross County to the late James L. and Leota (Richter) Bethel.  On September 19, 1953, he married his beautiful bride, the former Shirley L. Harris, who preceded him in death December 6, 2013.   He is survived by his children: Melinda Evans, Janet (Jerry) Colburn, Edward E. Bethel, Sr., Earl Bethel, Jr., Jamie L. Bethel, Debra J. Bethel, all of Chillicothe; and Susan (Richard) White, McArthur; 17 grandchildren; several great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren; a brother Walter A. Bethel; and his special home health nurse Brittany Barr-Pfeiffer.  In addition to his parents and wife, he was predeceased by his grandsons: James A. Seymour, Jr. and Travis J. White; a sister; three brothers; a son-in-law Kenny Evans; and a daughter-in-law Joy Bethel.   Earl retired in 1997 from CHILPACO, where he worked in the maintenance department.   Graveside services will be held at 11am Friday Nov. 19, in Grandview Cemetery.  The family respectfully requests no gifts or flowers be sent.
