Douglas Temple

Douglas Ray Temple, 76, of Chillicothe, died at 7:09pm Sunday May 5, 2024, at Adena Regional Medical Center following a brief illness.

He was born July 10, 1947, in Ross Co. to the late Douglas "Jack" and Pansy M. (Detty) Temple.  On April 17, 1965, he married the former Janice Diane Cottrill Temple, who survives.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by their children: Marshall (Connie) Temple, of Chillicothe, Kristie Williams, of Chillicothe; grandkids: Larry (Kristie) Temple, of New York, Dakota (Shalia) Temple, Chillicothe, and Miranda Temple, Chillicothe; great-grandkids: Landon and Kayden Lowe, Karsyn and Ruger Temple, Toby Fry, and Kahrisha Triplett, Qua'Liyah and Qua'Nayah Thomas; Nevaeh Temple; sisters Patsy (Elliott) Masters and Sharon Rogers; many nieces and nephews; and close friends Brian Wallner, Tom Strausbaugh and Dick Parks.  Doug loved his neighbors Jonas and Rhoda Hershberger and their son Ervin; Eli and Katie Weaver; and Brian and Susan Merriman.  In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his son-in-law Mark Williams.

Douglas was employed at Wonder Bread & Hostess for 32 years.  He retired from Hostess in 2007.  He was an avid horseback rider and loved the outdoors.  He'll be remembered as a family man who loved his family and friends.  Doug was an amazing husband, father and grandfather.

His funeral service will be held at 11am Thursday May 9, 2024, at the Haller Funeral Home & Crematory.  Burial will follow in Londonderry Cemetery.  The family will receive friends Wednesday from 6-8pm at the funeral home.
