She was born February 3, 1962, in Sandusky, Ohio, daughter of Robert L. and Bonnie J. (Simpson) Stephens. On January 19, 2013, she married her beloved husband, Gregory Lee Meeker, who survives.
In addition to her mother and husband, she is survived by her children, Steven (Ashley) Burchett, Emalee (DJ) Richards, and Aaron (Justin) Meeker; grandchildren, Jared, Nathan, Emberlee, Daxton, Caroline, and Watson; her brother, Clyde (Tammi) Stephens; sisters, Patricia (Mike) Lute, and Tina Hochschild; her cousin, Karen Parrish; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, extended family members, and friends. Dorraine graduated from high school and began her career working for the State of Ohio BWC, where she spent 30 years of dedicated service before retiring. She met her beloved husband, Gregory, in 2011 at a small diner in Waverly, Ohio, where they began their whirlwind romance. Over the years, they took many adventures together traveling, going on cruises, and spending time with their family. Dorraine especially loved taking trips to the casino and having a good time. She also loved documenting family vacations by creating scrap books. Her family and friends will forever remember her fun, loving personality, and her generous nature. She always wanted to make sure everyone else was taken care of before herself, especially her family. She loved each of her family members more than words could ever describe, and she will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing her.
In accordance with her wishes, the family will host a celebration of life at a future date. There will be no public calling hours or visitation.
Family and friends may make a memorial contribution in her honor to the Breast Cancer Foundation. Anyone who wishes to send flowers can send them to Greg's home.
