Dorothy Rinehart

Dorothy Mae Rinehart, 83 passed away on July 29, 2017 9:30 AM at Westmoreland Place in Chillicothe Ohio.    She was born on December 25, 1933, in Chillicothe, Ohio to Charles and Mallie (King) Curtis. Dorothy married Gilbert (Gib) Jan 23 1956 in Chillicothe, Ohio. They were happily married for 28 years. Dorothy is survived by her sons Stephen (Shelley) Rinehart of Chillicothe OH and Jim (Sarah) Rinehart of Sevierville, TN; brothers William (Mae) Curtis and Don (Judy) Curtis of Chillicothe, OH; sister Audrey Rigsby-Adkins of Maryville, OH; grandchildren Tony (Misty) Rinehart, Mark (Betty) Gleason, Matt (Brittany) Gleason, Heather Gleason, Mandy Daniels, David Rinehart, Hannah Rinehart, Beth (Kenney) Oiler, Ashley Rinehart and Matt (Brandy) Rinehart. Dorothy was a proud Grandmother of 15 great-grandchildren. Dorothy was preceded in death by her husband Gib and her parents, Charles and Mallie Curtis, brothers Samual, Wayne and Jimmy, sisters Nora (Esten) Arrowood, Sarah (Jim) Dray, Mary Lou (Lawrence) Wright and Martha (Jack) Gessells. Her daughter Betty Ann (David) Gleason and grandson Matthew James Gleason.   Dorothy grew up in Chillicothe, Ohio. She graduated from Southeastern High School in Londonderry, Ohio in 1951. Dorothy worked for Arbors Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Hilliard, Ohio as a CNA where she worked for 9 years while taking care of her mother. Dorothy was a member of Camlin Hill Church. She and Gib enjoyed singing for the Lord at any opportunity given.   Special thanks to Granddaughter Brandy Rinehart for assisting with Dorothy's home health care – Grandma Loves You! Also to the many nurses and CNAs that have cared for her over the last few years.   Philippians 1:23-24   I am hard pressed between the two. My desire is to depart and be with Christ, for that is far better. But to remain in the flesh is more necessary on your account. Funeral services will be held 1:00 pm Wednesday at the Haller Funeral Home & Crematory, Pastor Lonnie Hamlin officiating. Burial will follow in Evergreen Cemetery Waverly, OH. The family will be greeting friends and relatives 5-8 pm Tuesday at Haller Funeral Home & Crematory.
