Dorothy L Francis

Dorothy L. Francis, of Chillicothe, passed away peacefully on Saturday, September 12, 2026, at Chillicothe Post-Acute Nursing facility. 

She was born on May 27, 1930, in Ross County, to the late Jasper H. and Helen Johnson. In 1951, she married Melvin E. Francis, who preceded her in death on August 19, 1964. 

In addition to her parents and husband, Dorothy is preceded in death by her brothers, Robert H. and Norman L. Johnson. 

Dorothy is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Brenda and Malcom "Mac" Porter; and her longtime friend, shopping, and travel buddy, Rosemary Barnett. 

Dorothy was a graduate of Centralia High School, class of 1948, and retired from Kenworth. 

The family would like to express their appreciation to Adena Hospice, Springfield Township EMS, and Chillicothe Post-Acute Nursing, for their wonderful care and kindness provided to Dorothy and her family.

In accordance with her wishes, cremation has taken place and there will be no public services. Dorothy had a love for animals, especially her "baby boy" Maxwell.
