Dorothy L. Beverly, affectionately known to many as "Dot," age 70, of Chillicothe, went to be with the Lord at 1:02am, October 5, 2023, at Ohio State University Hospital.
She was born March 15, 1953, in Chillicothe, to the late Clarence M. Lee II and Virginia (Fairrow) Lee. On September 4, 1971, she married George K. Beverly, Sr., who preceded her in death on August 27, 2012. In addition to her husband and parents, she was predeceased by her son James Beverly; grandsons Caleb Urita, Austen and Jeremiah Beverly; daughter-in-law Angela Beverly; and brothers Clarence M., III, Austin C. and Eric C. Lee.
Surviving are her children: Jeremy (Carie) Beverly, Tiffany Beverly, Virginia (Nick) Urita, Nellie (Tairan, Sr.) Simmons, Ericka Beverly, and George K. Beverly, Jr.; 18 grandchildren; 3 great-grandchildren; her sister Bonita (Gregory) Duncan, all of Chillicothe; a host of nieces and nephews; and many spiritual children to which she was very influential.
Dot was a graduate of Chillicothe High School, Class of 1971. She was very active in her faith, having taught Sunday School for many years and recently served as a Deaconess at her son's church, the Church of Deliverance.
Her funeral service will be held at 1pm Wednesday, October 11, at the Church of Deliverance, 393 N. High St., Chillicothe, with Pastor Jeremy Beverly officiating. Burial will follow in Grandview Cemetery. The family will receive friends Wednesday from 11am until 1pm at the church.
