Dorman
G. Wooten passed from this life on Tuesday July

at his residence following an extended illness from heart complications.
Dorman was born November 5, 1938, in Sparta, North Carolina, to the late
Vaughn
Wooten
and
Edith
Pruitt
Wooten.
On
May
21,
1982,
he
married
the former Ruth Ann Gilliam, who survives.
Also surviving is one daughter Tammie Wooten and her companion
Dale Holsinger, one Grandson Zachary Lee (Sarah) Collins, Great Grand
Children Tanner and Avery.
A very special friend, Neil Mick, who was like a son to him.
Dorman was a graduate of Sparta High School, class of 1957. In June of
1957 he enlisted in the Navy and graduated as an electrician at the
Great Lakes Training School. After his honorable discharge from the
Navy, he worked in maintenance in Fishers Flour Mill in Seattle
Washington. In 1973 he came to Chillicothe from Seattle Washington,
where he helped start the Chillicothe Kenworth Truck Company, driving the first truck off the line. Dorman
held several jobs including Superintendent of production, supervisor in test department and engineering. Retiring after 37 years of service
In Dorman's early years, he loved to race motorcycles, was avid
fisherman and a sportsman hunter, hunting in the Pacific Northwest,
he also enjoyed playing golf with his church family and Kenworth co
workers.
Dorman gave his heart to the lord in September 1980 and was a member of Shady Glen CCCU and held several church positions from
first and second elder, trustee and treasurer for several churches, he
was also involved in the J216 ministry for several years, picking up food
and delivering to those in need.
A Funeral Service will be held on Monday, July 14, 2025, at 1:00 pm followed by Military Honors and Burial at Omega Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Monday from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm
