Doris E. (Boggess) Kinzer, 87, of Chillicothe, died unexpectedly at 12:42pm February 17, 2021, at Adena Regional Medical Center ER. She was born September 28, 1933, in Bourneville, OH to the late James and Mabel (Reynolds) Boggess. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her husband, Norman Kinzer; daughters Kathy Weaver and Jackie (Kinzer) Worthen; and all of her siblings: Russell Boggess, Rueben Boggess, Lionel Boggess, Betty Davis, Patricia Downs, Jean Hill and Charlie Boggess. Surviving are her sons: Jeff Kinzer, of Chillicothe; and Scott Kinzer, of Waverly; grandchildren: Tracie (Rodney) Dickerson, Kim (Toby) Hawk, Nick Worthen, Jamie McPherson, Brandi Weaver (Ian Lorenc), Kasey Weaver, Tyler Kinzer, Dakota Kinzer, Sierra Kinzer and Cannon Kinzer; great-grandchildren: Drew, Brittani, Morgan, Tyson, Hunter, Carson, Payton, Haley, Madison, MacKenzie, Chance and Brooklyn; and great-great-grandchildren: Leyton, Juliet, Jaxson and Lucie. Doris earned her LPN Nursing license from Shawnee State University. She started her nursing career at the former Chillicothe Hospital, when it was located off of Western Ave. She worked for many years at Chillicothe Hospital, which became Adena Health System, on 3A prior to her retirement. After a few years of retirement, she went back to nursing and worked at Kingston Nursing Home before finally retiring for good. The family will receive friends Tuesday, Feb. 23, from 5-7pm at the Haller Funeral Home & Crematory. In accordance with her wishes, cremation will follow.
