Doris Hinty

Doris A. Hinty, 76, of Chillicothe, died 2:12 pm, January 6, 2012 at the Adena Regional Medical Center, following an extended illness. She was born October 30, 1935 in Whisler, OH to Perry and Hazel Arledge Gaines. On April 11, 1956 she married David "Donald" Hinty, who survives. Also surviving is her daughter, Leona (Steven) Penrod, of Chillicothe; 4 grandchildren, Christopher and Josh Hinty, Chuck Welch, and Cheryl Owen; 7 great-grandchildren; 2 sisters, June (Paul) Truman, Portsmouth, and Linda (Larry) McDowell, Lucasville; 2 brothers, Larry (Goldie) Gaines, Howard, OH and Perry Gaines Jr., Waverly; several additional family members and special friends including Aunt Alice Pierce. She was preceded in death by her parents; a son, Robert Hinty; and two sisters, Roberta Jividen and Margie Keister. Funeral services will be held 1:00 pm Tuesday at the Haller Funeral Home, Rev. Mitch Salyers officiating. Burial will follow in Greenlawn Cemetery. Friends may call 4-8 pm Monday or one hour prior to the service at Haller's on Tuesday.
