Dora Mae Aldridge, 80, of Chillicothe, passed away Saturday afternoon, November 26, 2022 at Riverside Methodist Hospital, following an extended illness.
She was born June 5, 1942, in Jackson, Ohio, daughter of the late Eric and Mattie (Ison) Bowling. On August 3, 1964, she married her beloved husband, Finos Hoyt Aldridge, and together they shared nearly 50 years of marriage before his passing May 16, 2014.
Surviving are four children, Thomas (Tami) Aldridge, Douglas Aldridge, John Aldridge, and Mandy Storts; her grandchildren, Lauren (Gabe) Gardiner, and Tommy Aldridge; four great-grandchildren, Evelyn Storts, Bentlee Gardiner, Ethan Storts, and Kynlee Gardiner; her two siblings, Harvey Bowling, and Esther (Don) Skaggs; two sisters-in-law, Sharon Bowling and Carolyn Brasel; a close friend, Juanita Wolfe; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, extended family members, and friends. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her siblings, Burl, Ballard, Dazel, and Mary Louise.
Dora Mae was an honorably discharged veteran of the United State Air Force, who served from 1962-1964. She went on to work at the Chillicothe VA Medical Center before retiring in 1990. She adored spending time with her great-grandchildren and they brought her the most joy in life.
Funeral services will be held at 1:00pm on Friday, December 2, 2022 at the Haller Funeral Home with Pastor Rick Hartley officiating. Burial will follow in Springbank Cemetery with Military Honors conducted by the Ross County Veterans Honor Guard. Friends may join the family for visitation on Thursday from 5:00pm-8:00pm at Haller's.
