Born December 28, 1959, Donna Jane Miller was the last addition to the Miller family. The youngest of 6 children, she was well loved, and developed a determined spirit that carried her through her life and career. She spent her childhood summers running barefoot, bikinied and sunburned at Ater's lake. Donna was a member of the Bishop Flaget Graduating class of 1977. Flaget continued to hold a special place in her heart, always. She attended Thomas More College and received her DMD from the University Of Louisville School Of Dentistry in 1984. While there, she was the first female president of the honors dental fraternity. After her residency at the Miami Valley Hospital, she returned to Chillicothe and joined Dr. Dan Green in his practice. This year marked her 30th year of continued practice at Family Dental Center. Donna was committed to her patients and co-workers. She considered them her second family. Baptized at Saint Mary Church, Donna remained a lifelong, active member of the parish community. She was a member of the American Dental Association, and the Ohio Dental Association. Terry DeGarmo and Donna were married July 8, 1988. They were a team in every endeavor. They put in a pool, and then learned they would soon have twins. Donna said, "fill it in." There are no words to encompass the love Donna and Terry share for their children. The twins grew up the center of their world, and Donna taught them the true meaning of unconditional love. Donna passed away unexpectedly, October 30, 2016. She was predeceased by her parents, Nedra and Jack Miller. Donna's memory will live on in her children, Anna Marie and Joel Emerson DeGarmo and loving husband, Terry DeGarmo. Also survived by, step-children: Ryan (Jennifer Kafsky) DeGarmo, Seth (Laura) DeGarmo, step-grandchildren, Drew, Wilsen, and Carson DeGarmo. Her siblings, Steven (Cary) Miller, Susan (James) Hill, Jacquelyn Miller, Jo Ann Miller (Michael Harrison), David (Deanna) Miller, sister-in-law Shannon (Robert) Crane, and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 11:00 am Friday at St. Mary Church, Rev. Lawrence Hummer, Celebrant. Burial will follow in St. Margaret Cemetery.
